Founder and CEOWhen I was 16 years old, I decided I wanted to work in the sexual and domestic violence movement. I wanted to learn how to support survivors and prevent interpersonal and community violence. I wanted to become a force for change and honor the founders of this movement that had already changed my life. I wanted to build a career rooted in passion and purpose.
For over two decades, I have had the honor and the privilege of living that dream. I’ve worked with nonprofits in Massachusetts, Washington D.C, and California. I’ve had the sacred experience of supporting survivors in medical exams, police stations, and court rooms. I’ve led thousands of trainings and workshops from elementary school classrooms to delivering keynote addresses at large scale conferences. In every space I’ve held, I’ve worked to facilitate connections-connection to the cause, connection to the skills all of us can develop to recognize and respond to gender-based violence, and connection to others.
My story isn’t unique. I’ve met so many incredibly dedicated individuals and organizations, many of them drawn to this work and this mission because of their personal connections. I’ve also witnessed the cumulative toll this work can have. And while I know for certain that this work is impactful, I believe that burnout is not inevitable. I want this movement to continue to grow and thrive, and for this movement to be sustainable, it needs the people driving it to be able to live whole and sustainable lives.
I partner with nonprofit organizations looking to build and strengthen their prevention and education programs. I love mentoring those who are just beginning their careers in this field. I support colleges and universities looking to strengthen their response to gender-based violence by providing them with training, consultation, and support. I work with school districts and community organizations that want to start a conversation, but need the tools to know how to keep it going and how to turn conversations into systemic change.
Above all, I am a facilitator and a connector. This work cannot be done in isolation; meaningful and lasting change becomes possible through connection. As challenging as this work can be, it has also brought me so much joy. It is an honor to bring that joy and passion into every partnership and engagement at JTC.

Business Architect
Growing up, my family rarely missed an opportunity to discuss values. In church, at the dinner table, or car rides to the grocery store, I was encouraged to challenge societal norms that protected the status quo instead of people in need. These conversations became the foundation of my educational pursuit as I obtained my B.A in Sociology and Minor in Leadership from Appalachian State University.
After college, I jumped head first into the workforce. I acquired operational positions around the globe gaining life altering experiences outside of a traditional 9-5. I learned how to cultivate connections while breaking down barriers how to lead a successful team with compassion and transparency. Over the years, my passion shifted and my focus became following a vision and our common purpose rather than revenue.
After a few years, I went back to school and obtained my MBA from Winston-Salem State University. It was during my graduate program I was introduced to the philosophy of social corporate responsibility and other alternative methods of business growth that focus on the mission rather than the revenue. After graduation, I began to utilize my skillset in a very different capacity. Instead of improving processes or policies, I turned struggling organizations into profitable businesses by focusing on the mission and employee retention rather than bottom line.
At JT Consulting, my mission is to help others create tangible solutions for themselves. In personal relationships or professional spaces, some people are made to feel like a commodity, or that their value is tied solely to unattainable metrics. Whether it’s a boardroom, classroom, or a space in between, we are dedicated to creating more spaces that are safe and nurturing for all.

In every town, city, and zip code, there are people impacted by sexual and domestic violence. Gender-based violence does not discriminate, and while it impacts everyone differently, the impacts are felt, not only by the individual but throughout the community.
A safer community is a more connected community, so just by taking time to reach out and connect to those around us, we are helping to increase the safety of our friends, families, and neighbors. We can do that this holiday season. We can do that, together, all year long.
